Thanks to the dye-sublimation printing process, the prints exit the printer completely dry and ready to handle, and with the final overcoat layer, they are even water-resistant! Most dye-sub printers can only produce glossy prints (because the final overcoat layer is glossy), but Canon has learned how to change the texture of the final print so that you can choose from glossy, semi-gloss and satin finishes.
